I have been passionate about serving the needs of children, teens, and families for over a decade. I also enjoy working with adults on an individual basis who are seeking healing and change. Relationship issues, in the form of romantic, platonic, family relationships, and work relationships are all areas when I can be most effective with my clients.
I use a strength-based approach to empower my clients (both children and adults) who are struggling with symptoms related to depression, anxiety, grief, and other issues.
Specialization in Special Needs Issues:
Prior to my professional role, I worked at a local agency providing assessment, support, and Regional Center-funded services to children, teens, and adults. Additionally, I gained experience working in a Special Education classroom and at a summer recreation program catering to children/teens with developmental delays.
Through these experiences, I gained a deep knowledge of the local resources relevant to individuals with Special Needs and their families. I have witnessed the ways in which families are impacted by their struggles with meeting the needs of their child with Special Needs and witnessed the joys felt when their efforts pay off.
I have been working in the counseling field since 2003.
